Reply to "GHK WITH COPD"

Dr. Pickart,

My name is Mike Smalling, and I’m currently a grad student at Louisiana Tech University studying in molecular science. I have read many of your papers, and became very interested in the tripeptide GHK through them. I have also read Dr. Campbell’s work on COPD, and Dr. Lane’s work with SPARC as well as others. I intended to do a master’s thesis on research of the tripeptide, but after I had gotten through the initial research, my advisors here realized I was in an area they were totally unfamiliar with and uncomfortable with me pursuing that line. However, I am still very interested, and believe there is a great deal more to GHK than has been researched. My initial research in silico gave results in proteins which may be known, but I haven’t found it published. Do you known if the mechanism of action has been researched on the tripeptide? Or if the tripeptide passes the BBB? I can find no information on this.

It doesn’t appear that I will be able to pursue research on this line anytime soon here, but if you are continuing research on the tripeptide perhaps you could use the information I’ve found. I believe the tripeptide could be an important therapeutic in several areas and believe someone should pursue this if possible. I would appreciate any information you might be able to share with me, and would be glad to give you my information as well, such as it is. The best way to contact me is at my school address mds070@latech.edu. I hope to hear from you.

Sincerely,

Mike Smalling
